2026 New Year Goreikai
2026 GRN Master Workshop

History and Revival of the New Year Goreikai and New Year Reiju-kai

During the lifetime of Mikao Usui Sensei, the New Year Goreikai was held annually in Tokyo.
This gathering served several purposes:
 

  • Members came together in one place to listen to lectures by Usui Sensei.

  • Participants received Reiju (attunements) from the supervising masters to harmonize body and mind.

  • Members from various regions had the opportunity to meet and connect with one another.


Following this, the New Year Reiju-kai, a gathering exclusively for masters, was held, where participants:
 

  • Received special lectures and Reiju directly from Usui Sensei.​

  • Exchanged Reiju among themselves, committing to personal health, spiritual growth, and the social contribution of Reiki.


Thus, both the New Year Goreikai, open to all Reiki practitioners, and the New Year Reiju-kai, limited to masters, were passed down through successive heads of the organization. However, as wartime conditions intensified and travel became difficult, these gatherings were suspended.

In 2005, Hiroshi Doi Sensei, the founder of Gendai Reiki Ho, began restoring these events. In 2025, they mark their 20th anniversary since the revival. Since 2010, the ceremony have been held at the Meiji Kinenkan.

The Meiji Kinenkan is a direct facility of Meiji Jingu (Shrine), dedicated to Emperor Meiji, whom Usui Sensei deeply revered. It is located near Aoyama (Jingumae), the birthplace of Usui Reiki Ryoho, and Shinano-machi, where the Hayashi Reiki Research Society once met. This makes it an ideal venue for the New Year Reiju-kai.

Part 1 Reijukai
For Gendai Reiki Masters: 1:45 PM – 3:45 PM (227 seats)

Participants will experience a high-vibration atmosphere, listen to a lecture by Gendai Reiki founder Hiroshi Doi Sensei, receive Reiju from Doi Sensei, and exchange Reiju with other attending Masters. We warmly invite you to join this precious Reiki tradition that has continued since Usui Sensei’s time, and to experience the Reiju and the powerful Reiki resonance shared with many Masters.

Part 2 Koryukai
For Gendai Reiki Masters and level 1-3 practitioners: 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM (277 seats)   

Practitioners from Levels 1 to 3 will join. Participants will receive guidance from Doi Sensei on Gendai Reiki exercises and practice them together. Experience the exceptionally high Reiki resonance that occurs when many people practice together.

Part 3 Dinner
For Gendai Reiki Masters and level 1-3 practitioners: 6:20 PM – 8:00 PM (Open to all who wish to attend)

Participants will enjoy a French course dinner. The on-site restaurant is highly acclaimed, so please savor the exquisite cuisine together with your Reiki friends.

Attendance Fees
​For Gendai Reiki Masters:
(1) Parts 1 + 2 + 3 (Full Program Discount): 31,000 yen, or
(2) Parts 1 + 2 only: 19,000 yen  

For Gendai Reiki Practitioners (Level 1–3):
(3) Parts 2 + 3 (Koryukai & Dinner Set Discount): 23,000 yen, or
(4) Part 2 only: 9,000 yen

We kindly ask that all payments be made via PayPal. Detailed payment instructions will be sent to those who submit the application form.​

Cancellation policy

Please note that refunds will be made after deducting the PayPal transfer fee.

  • Until December 15, 2025: Full refund

  • From December 16 to December 31, 2025: 50% refund

  • From January 1, 2026, to the event day: No refund

GRN Tokyo International Master Workshop

On Sunday, January 25, 2026, GRN will host a special gathering in Tokyo, bringing together over 100 Gendai Reiki Masters from around the world.

At GRN workshops, we value creating a space where participants can freely share, learn from one another, and gain new insights together. Held the day after the New Year Celebration, this event offers a rare and precious opportunity to meet in person and deepen our connections.

The program theme will be shaped by your voices: prior to the event, we will send out a survey to collect your interests and requests, and those will guide our focus. We warmly look forward to your participation.
