2027 New Year Goreikai
(Reiju Ceremony)
The New Year Goreikai was established by Mikao Usui as an important annual event to welcome the New Year.
At that time, Reiki Shihan of the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai gathered together to listen to Usui Sensei’s teachings and receive Reiju from their assigned Reiki Master to renew and harmonize their body and mind. Following the Reiju Ceremony, members who had gathered from various regions came together to reconnect, strengthen their bonds, and reaffirm their commitment to contributing to society through Reiki. It was a deeply meaningful gathering that brought the Reiki community together at the beginning of each year.
In Gendai Reiki Ho, Hiroshi Doi Sensei, the founder of Gendai Reiki Ho, revived this tradition in 2005 as the New Year Reiju Ceremony. Since then, we have held it annually at Meiji Kinenkan for more than 20 years.
In 2027, the New Year Goreikai will move to Osaka, where we will introduce several new elements to this long-standing tradition.
The New Year Goreikai is one of the most important events in Gendai Reiki Ho. We hope it will be a special opportunity for all of us to celebrate the beginning of a new year together, renew our hearts and minds, and reaffirm our commitment to the path of Reiki.
